PART ONE
God, Man and Life
Introduction
Before entering into a study of the Biblical story of the God/man encounter in Part Three of this book, let us consider a number of scriptures in order to determine the nature of these two main characters. In Part One, a brief study of the nature of both God and man will be presented; at the same time, an effort will be made to ascertain the meaning of life, sin and death. Also, we will investigate the quality of life of those who inhabit the kingdom of God. This will help us understand the things John spoke of in the following scripture.
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life—and the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. I John 1:1-4
In Part Two, we will consider the nature of Satan, the antagonist in the Bible narrative. He plays a major role in the scenario of God’s scheme to add children to His kingdom. We will also study about sin and death as they relate to mankind in the world.
